Benzing Surveying, LLC was established in 2015 by current members Ryland and Shannon Benzing. Ryland has an A.A.S. degree in Civil & Construction Engineering Technology and more than two decades of experience in the surveying field. He continues to stay informed about the latest industry trends by being a member of the Society of Land Surveyors of Iowa, Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors, and the National Society of Professional Surveyors. Ryland has also shared his surveying knowledge as an adjunct instructor for the Land Surveying course at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. Shannon has a B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently a Production Manager for Collins Aerospace. Combining Ryland and Shannon’s technical and business knowledge helps Benzing Surveying, LLC meet and exceed our customer needs.
Ryland and Shannon are graduates of Waukon High School and are excited to have Benzing Surveying, LLC offices located in Waukon and Decorah. They look forward to serving the communities where they grew up and all of Eastern Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin!

Benzing Surveying, LLC utilizes top of the line robotic and GNSS measuring equipment, and computer-aided drafting technology all while maintaining the long held techniques and traditions of surveyors past that mapped our country. We offer small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS), aka Drone, Surveying services and both manned and unmanned Hydrographic Surveying.
